∟Missing Emulator Engine Program for 'arm' CPUS
This section provides a tutorial example showing the error of 'Missing emulator engine program for arm CPUS' when starting an Android emulator. This is caused missing emulator-arm.exe file in tools folder caused by anti-virus auto delete virus infected files.
A few days after I created my Android emulators, I started to get an error when starting any emulator in 'AVD manager'. The error says: 'PANIC: Missing emulator engine program for 'arm' CPUS.', see the screenshot below.
Based on reports on the Internet, this error is caused by missing the emulator-arm.exe file in the 'tools' folder. One possible root cause is the anti-virus program, which identifies the file as virus infected and deletes it automatically.
I am not sure what to the emulator-arm.exe file in my case. But I can run 'SDK Manager', uninstall 'Android SDK Tools 24.3.3' and install it again.
After reinstalling 'Android SDK Tools 24.3.3', I see the file emulator-arm.exe is back in the tools folder. I have can start my Android emulator in AVD with no problem.

I've been trying to develop a mobile app in visual studio 2017 with Xamarin. Everything was going fine until I noticed a message in the output window that my Android emulator is out of date. I followed the instructions to update and now I can't debug. I get the following messages in the output window:
Panic Missing Emulator Engine Program For 'x86' Cpu. Macos
- Emulator Android_Accelerated_x86_Oreo cannot be started
- PANIC: Missing emulator engine program for x86 cpu
I read somewhere that, in the new version, the emulator path changes from C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdktoolsemulator.EXE to C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdkemulatoremulator.EXE. I cannot find an option to inform visual studio of the new path. Nor can I get the Xamarin Live Player to pair with my phone. Any help would be appreciated

And if I press F5 in Visual Studio while I have the emulator running (started via powershell) it connects fine to it and loads the application.
